Blinded I was actually leaning N Rhone on this because of the sharp acidity, olives, and ash. But the bright red strawberry note should have had me thinking South. Underbrush, fresh and dried herbs, iron, meat juice, light citrus note, and tapenade all rounded out by a long finish. Nothing too ripe, no prunes...yeah! I really hope the newer vintages age like this!
