  October 17, 2014 - 2014 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): This opaque ruby, fleshy Cheval Blanc flirts with perfection. Ripe black currant, espresso, fig, sandalwood and walnut aromas and flavors are supported by a full-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13.7%) frame. The tannins are substantial but are so fine-grained that the wine has an overall velvety mouth texture. Beautifully balanced and harmonious, it shows great persistence in the middle and has excellent purity of fruit. The finish is impressively long and surprisingly supple for such a young Bordeaux. It is amazing how this château has captured such power and hedonism in the same bottle. Drink 2020-2045.
