  January 10, 2015 - Given a brief decant and served
  
  This wine was fully mature.
  
  The nose was an explosive knit of dark fruit with black cherries and raspberry playing harmony on a cigar box stage.
  
  Tasting confirmed perfect balance and integration of fruit, tannin and acid with the slightest whiff of licorice.
  
  The finish was a full 15 seconds.
  
  On this evening drinking splendidly and rated 93 points. Highly recommended.
  
  This is exactly the type of wine which supports the notion that 2nd wines in great vintages are terrific value
