June 16, 2015 - Salil's bottle. The nose is light, clear, mature and perfumed: beautiful golden and red apples, cinnamon - classic apple pie, other spices, a hint of citrus, some herbal and maybe mint. The palate is something else - simply heartbreaking Riesling. This is not rich or heavy Riesling, this is quiet, transcendent, everything-in-its-proper-place Riesling. Flavors of apples and cinnamon, spices and herbs/mint like the nose, but there is something more - the acidity is there, something citric and fruit, but like no fruit I have ever had - maybe something like grapefruit and peach combined. The finish is more of the same, maybe the 1994 acid, so on it's own in many other 1994's, is starting to stick out a bit, but just a bit. Phenomenal. Thanks Salil. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 6/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5-2/2 = 18.5-19/20.
