June 6, 2015 - Light brick red. Closed upon opening. After three hours in the decanter comes classic aromas of cherries, rose and tar. It gradually open up in the glass with scents of balsamic, licorice, forest floor and autumn leaves. Lovely acidity, nice texture and well-integrated tannins. Delicious mid palate with ripe, slightly sweet and sour, cherry fruit that last long and culminates with a great finish. Concentrated, somewhat powerful, yet elegant wine that can be further stored in the cellar but it's absolutely ready to drink now with good aeration. Tested in Riedel and Zalto Burgundy glass. In this case the fruit was more distinct on and the wine just felt more delicious in the Zalto glass.
Served with beef of Reindeer on a bed of pan roasted carrots, hazelnuts, fresh herbs and wild sauce with blueberries. Very good match. This was a top bottle. (90-92 points) This one; 50+5+13+15+8 (91) points.
