  July 11, 2015 - A wonderful evening of Chenin. (Chez Kravitz- Old Saybrook): Corked. A bottle I had a couple of months ago showed beautifully, though expressed the vintage's ripeness with slightly elevated alcohol and softer than usual acidity.

  7/17/15, 12:38 PM - To be honest, I like the the sweeties better in '05 than the demis. Don't get me wrong, I still like the '05 demis, but they show the vintage in that they're a bit ponderous. The alcohol has been a little too apparent in some of the bottles I've had and I prefer higher acid levels.

  7/17/15, 1:36 PM - I feel the '05 whites across the Loire, Alsace and Germany have some hidden power yet to come to the fore but time will tell. I did get some of the sweet '05s including a good amount of Constance and from Foreau as well.
  
  Have you seen any premox on the '02 sweet wines? I went very heavy on the 1ere Tries with a great deal years ago and the few I've opened have been great - but young of course.
  
  Sorry you missed the ZH dinner. It was the party of the year and having Olivier spend the weekend at the house to be able to talk to at ease was a dream come true.

  7/17/15, 2:19 PM - I haven't seen any premox in the '02 moelleux or 1ere Trie from Huet and I imagine they're largely safe as you can't risk backing off on the sulfur too much with sweeties.
  
  Was sorry to have missed the ZH gig and I'm glad you guys had an amazing time. I never saw any notes from it on the board, though. Did anyone post?

  7/17/15, 2:27 PM - I was having such a great time that I decided not to write notes as I was going through the evening and I don't think anyone else took notes. I do have all the wines listed if you look at my recent notes on CellarTracker as I wrote 1 line "reminder" notes of what we drank. I'll also email you the program from the evening.
