  December 21, 2015 - Slow ox for three hours and another hour in decanter. The nose is less pungent than the last encounter, nonetheless it's filled with various soothing notes of cassis, cigar, coffee, truffle, anise, spice and green pepper. Palate is medium body, with good energy and structure, savory note well blended with earthiness and smokiness. Tannins have softened but retain the bite and weight. Not the longest finish you'd expect, but still great and makes you keep drinking more.
