April 1, 2016 - The wine looks tawny colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like sherry, blackberry, black currant (cassis), prune, fig, cherry and stoniness. It tastes like blackberry, prune, raisin, and sherry. The body is medium. The wine finishes short. The wine has high acidity.
My last bottle of this wine - drank most of it early, and was fantastic. This bottle is slightly oxidized, but most of it's early character is gone now. Weak tannins; good acid but falls off quickly. Rich dark fruit aroma on opening the bottle; blew off quickly. Prune notes in glass. Not bad for a wine of this age, but it's at end of its life.
