    April 23, 2016 - A four-year vertical tasting of Anderson's Conn Estate Reserve Cabernets: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.

The 2008 ranked #2, primarily because the 2007 and 2009 were fairly disappointing overall. The 2008 hovered in the 88-89 point range, but just barely.

It had reserved notes of red current, some purple plum, wood, and a little earth. Straight forward and simple, lacking depth of flavor; tight mid-palate, with a muted finish. Air did not help much, with the wood and watery plum notes repeating on the back end.

This has a couple of years of life in it, but not much beyond that. I would drink now, sans decanting.

4/25/16, 11:49 AM - Really bummed to read your comments on the 2007, 2008 and 2009s. (I somehow didn't purchase any 2010s) I am opening one of my 2008s tomorrow night. I am hoping I enjoy it more than you did.

One suggestion, have you tried setting up a tasting note story? That way you (or other users) could see all the reviews in one place.

4/25/16, 4:35 PM - Hi there! I'd certainly be interesting in knowing your thoughts on this wine after you pop the cork. I really did want to like these wines, as I'm not someone who just likes to point out flaws or just critiques a wine just for the sake of critiquing it. I was just really underwhelmed overall unfortunately and felt like they lacked personalities on a number of levels.

Really great idea on utilizing the story feature for multiple wine flights. I haven't configured a story before, so I'll have to play around with how to do that. The way I did it is indeed a little clunky; sorry about that. Cheers, and thanks very much for the feedback!
