Community Tasting Note

  • Ron Felthoven Likes this wine:

June 23, 2016 - Raspberries, cherries, roses and a hint of soy on the nose. Almost none of the reduction and funk I've gotten tired of experiencing in Cameron's pinot noirs. I figured I'd write this note to provide a data point showing that at least this bottle is pretty clean and enjoyable; I haven't been buying Cameron pinot for a couple of years and this is a welcoming experience back into the fold. Very supple and silky with just the right amount of acid on the finish -- this is a very lovely and sultry wine for Oregon, and for Cameron, with no distracting oak or extract. Perhaps a little lacking in energy and complexity relative to other vintages and higher pedigreed Cameron SVDs, but for the price this wine (over) delivers. Give this some air and enjoy it now for what it is.

6/24/16, 4:58 PM - Agreed, the last few Cameron vintages have been a little disappointing. I bought six of these but haven't popped one yet, so appreciate your benchmark tasting notes.
