September 7, 2016 - With Kelvin in 13 degrees Wine Bar. A very pleasant wine, this delivered really good value for its price. It had a nicely interesting nose, with bits of herb and bramble, scorched earth and coffee grounds mingling with a core of dark berry aromas. I liked the palate too. It had a decent depth and weight to its ripe dark berry and bramble character, but also enough clarity and freshness so that it wore its 14% very lightly indeed. Fine tannins still have a rather solid chew past the midpalate and into a nicely long finish infused with spiced notes. With time, little savoury, meat suggestions started showing up. Enjoyable, and it should improve in the next few years too.
