September 25, 2016 - Dark ruby. Translucent, but fairly intensely coloured. Attractive nose of black cherries and something medicinal. On the palate there's a balsamic tang offsetting the sweet fruit. Quite long, good acidity, more (fine) tannins than most NZ Pinots; a food wine, though pleasant by itself too. There's a nip of heat, surprising as it's only 13.5%. Overall, a very pleasing New World Pinot, worth paying attention to. Screwcap.
