  October 20, 2016 - I think that this wine is now a fraction past its peak but it is nevertheless a delicious prospect. Powerful nose with cassis, cedar and dark cherries. Smoky, powerful, gravelly fruit combination on entry with wet mud and ash. Very refined tannins. Disappears a bit disappointingly in the mid-palate and then has a long sinewy licorice tail. Something reptilian about this but I'm off to buy more.
