January 27, 2008 - Opened to celebrate the birth of our son and my 40th birthday with Jim & Maggie. Decanted for 10 hours. Very dark red with purple hints exhibiting signs of youth and concentration. Nose not giving up too much at this stage, mainly primary nebbiolo fruit. Wonderful bracing acidity, structure and balance with mouth puckering complexity. The tannins were firm but not unpleasant. I wouldn't even think about drinking another one of these for at least 10-15 years if you can wait and by then would expect it to be spectacular. The score is for current drinking. Best Barolo I've had to date.
