November 16, 2016 - This was the ordinary vin rouge made by the monks
Probably a Cinsault/ Grenache/ Carignan blend. Not BDX like current Ch. Ksara
Gosh this is good. Herby, spicy nose, a little mushroom, then tobacco and fruit. You can still smell the fruit.
In the mouth there's lots of gentle sweet fruit, has a great purity about it, there's nothing musty, funky or tired here. Smoky notes and then a long lingering finish.
This is excellent. Tastes like something very good and old from the Rhone. Hard to believe that it is 56 years old1 person found this helpful 2,678 views
