  October 16, 2017 - Paella dinner (Valencia style). Moderately big wine, definite Cayuse funk present but was otherwise muted. Not much of other stuff going on such as a lack of the hot spice associated (and liked) in previous vintages and a lack of underlying complexity, tannins and prominent fruit. However it went well with the apps and the paella. Will not hinder my buying Impulsevo in the future, just a little disappointed in this bottle. WON was 2012 Teso La Monja Toro Almirez, impressive mixed fruit, moderate tannins but none of the astringency noted in the past. Good bargain.
