  February 20, 2018 - Charlie Heintz’s grapes can make wondeful wines. A bit of petrol on the nose in such a good way. Just a hint of butterscotch tells you this is California, but not in the least dominant -very backstage. SO2 but blows off. Acid bite, citrus, tart, with backend hint of alch. This isn’t watery or weightless, but instead a mid-weight wine that feels round. A lovely balance that reads California and Chablis. Enough description — This has a good decade plus in it with improvement probable too. Wow.
