January 20, 2019 - The nose reveals, ruby, ripe, fresh fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, dark plum, loads of purple fruits, black raspberries, black licorice, sweet tarriness, limestone & volcanic minerals, vanilla, caramel, light pepper notes, crush rocks, leather, saddle-wood, whiffs of mint and fresh dark and purple florals.

The body is medium, rich and ruby round. Tannins are round, soft with just a touch of dust. Ruby, ripe, fresh fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, dark plum, cherries, loads of purple fruits, black raspberries, black licorice, more understated sweet tarriness than the nose, limestone & volcanic minerals, vanilla, caramel, light pepper notes, crush rocks, leather, saddle-wood, whiffs of mint and fresh dark and purple florals. The acidy is round and rain shower like. The rich, ripe, ruby, well balanced & polished finish is delicious with good length.

2/24/19, 8:24 AM - While you can alway enjoy your wines whenever you like, this will benefit from more years in bottle. It still needs time to soften, integrate and gain complexity. For me, I wouldn’t open it for at least 5 years plus. However, I have proper storage and prefer to drink them when they hit their peak. I have the added benefit of buying more wine than I drink and have been collecting for over 20 years. Not everyone has the same set of circumstances to stay patience. I find the majority of consumers drink these types of wines between 0-3 years from their release date and are happy to so. But, if you want the best value/reward for your hard earned money and wish to experience better, very good things come to those that practice patience.

2/24/19, 9:43 AM - Thanks David, that’s very helpful. I do have proper storage and plenty of other wine to drink so I will be patient! I wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing the window on an early drinker. Cheers!
