fred o. Likes this wine:
March 20, 2019 - Dark ruby color with light translucence at the edges and bit of browning; flecks of sediment towards the bottom of the bottle. Nose smoky and meaty, black pepper with some violets. Palate silky texture, tart bing cherries with a profoundly rocky/wet stone minerality, savory black olives per J, faint pyrazines on the finish.
Hits all the notes of classically structured cool climate Syrah, just skirting the edges of underripe to me but wears its “11 1/2%” abv well overall, some richness to the red fruits surprisingly and gratifyingly. Could see it going a few more years left and developing more. Nice complexity right now, great with food. 92 pts3 people found this helpful 1,624 views
