June 8, 2019 - Two hour decant, disappointing especially given the exceptional vintage. Green bell pepper dominates the nose suggesting strangely for such a great vintage, that grapes were not completely light. Smooth, pleasant mouth feel with decent, medium finish. Drink now, doubt this gets better.

6/9/19, 1:07 PM - Thank you for you advice. This is my first bottle of 6 and I have stored in excellent temperature controlled conditions since purchasing in 2004. I hope you are right

6/11/19, 10:19 AM - Noticed a little green when I took my 6 out of professional storage. After a year in my own vintage keeper, the green got absorbed.

6/18/19, 3:58 PM - Hey ArtF. Did some research on Sociando Mallet and found this commentary by Neal Martin (Vinous) in March review of vertical tasting: “The 2000 Sociando-Mallet was not shown at the vertical and has always been a controversial wine. I remember being impressed during en primeur, and yet subsequent encounters have revealed a nagging greenness that leaves a bitter/vegetal note on the finish. I dug out another bottle from my cellar, but it too was disappointing compared to other vintages. Perhaps this is one year when some green harvesting or de-leafing would have benefited the wine”

6/20/19, 9:54 AM - I purchased as futures based on Decanter's en primeur rave. Recent bottles have not been green and last one had a touch of truffle next day. Should last well, but never be very complex or layered.
