Not shut down, angry or tight, just young. The pure power and concentration is remarkable with a solid, massive core of gorgeous red fruit and spice. There's also that classic sweetness running throughout. Notably, at least for me, I didn't particularly get a suffusion of stems, as that classic DRC trait was circling in harmony with the other facets of the wine. Balanced and yet magnificently powerful. This will be a great wine to track over the next several decades. I'm giving it 4 stars both because of how technically perfect it is now and also because of the potential here, which is demarcated by the question mark. XXXX(?)
