Community Tasting Note

  • RGCM Gananda Likes this wine: 93 points

November 3, 2019 - Prior bottle was 2 and a quarter years ago and my notes were very consistent. Nose remains red cherry, earth and notes of leather and tar notes. Full bodied and when first opened (at cellar temperature) this was far too cool as it showed as tight and quite tannic. After warming to room temperature and being open for almost five hours, it finally began to demonstrate why I liked my prior bottles so much. Red cherry upfront showing a good mix of roundness and brightness. Mid-body has depth, but still feels a bit closed. It has polish, but only once it warms up. Spices, earth and tart red fruit on the backside. This wine is still not at peak and I will actually wait on my next bottle until at least June 2021, perhaps even 2022 to give this a chance to express itself fully.
