May 7, 2020 - Was a bit worried about the age - but for no reason. A wonderful nose, restrained and mature, but clearly an energetic wine, very much alive and kicking. In the mouth, sour cherries, even a tiny bit “hostile”. But also fresh and sweet, and with still gripping tannins. Overall a beautiful mature sangiovese. Will remain at top level for up to 5 years I would guess. But remember: it’s all about the cellaring, mine was kept in stellar conditions.
