No medicinal notes this time - medium red color with clear meniscus. On nose, balsamic, herbs (rosemary/sage), black cherry and menthol - nice clean nose. Medium+ body, medium+ acidity, integrated tannins and long finish. Flavor profile consistent with nose ex. menthol. Has aged very well. 91-92 range. Will start drinking wines from this producer 9+ years from vintage from now on.2 people found this helpful 1,711 views

5/13/20, 6:47 PM - fine note. most, but not all (e. g. 2015) will benefit from extended sleep in the cellar before opening. After tasting this just before it was released to the public, I set my drink window: 2021-2035, fwiw

thanks for the follow-up. On 2015 Chianti Riserva's from traditional producers, how long are you recommending to age before opening? This wine in particular needed 9-10 years.
I love your wine blog by the way. Keep up the good work. -

5/27/20, 9:19 AM - depending on one's palate preferences, and in particular to traditional producers, I'd age (and will, on balance) for 7-10 years from vintage before beginning to consume them in earnest. thank for the nice words, un caro saluto
