  November 8, 2008 - Excellent wine!!! I bought this 4 years ago with some birthday cash and saved it for my 51st with my wife. Our first Insignia and the last of many 2001 California Cab based wines we enjoyed over the years and as they say "save the best for last". Rich deep color with the thinnest legs on a glass of wine we had ever seen. On the nose black fruits with a touch of hazelnut that was very interesting in a wine. Also some floral notes and hint of rich loam. On the palate a smooth, lingering, seductive finish without any harshness so I think this bottle was at the peak. A pedigree and even more impressive considering the volume of their production. Will save the 99 Insignia for 1 more year.
