November 16, 2020 - Notes from second day open. Pure ruby color, about 80% saturated with slow, lightly-stained legs and a tiny bit of sediment. Bright pepper, juniper, and pyrazines lead the bouquet, followed by Herbes de Provence and dark berry. The mouthfeel is medium-big bodied, smooth, with nicely balanced acidity and light tannins, along with some serious gravelly stones. But boy, this really is a pepper-lover’s wine and, to me, it reflects its terroir to a tee. Seems pretty much ready to drink with plenty of life ahead.
