December 7, 2020 - Opened yesterday, but better today. Notes from 24 hrs open, sitting unrefrigerated on the counter overnight. I saw 15% abv, and I coughed...wow. On the nose: ripe plum, sawdust, some va, a touch stewy, i.e., not well-delineated. On the palate: good acidity keeps this fresh, loads of fruit including plum and blood orange, then more hi-toned and slightly glossy, but ok density. I didn't get a huge amount of tannin, but I did get a fair amount of heat. Good winter barbera, I guess, but maybe less food-friendly than I like.
