February 3, 2021 - This wine has upside potential. It is probably 3 or 4 years from the top. These cabs seem to really be at their impressive state between 10 and 15 years, but this one definitely did not disappoint tonight. Served with Greek food, the very dense black cherry and volcanic property was very apparent in this wine. Black cherry cassis, herbal influence. Actually still very youthful and acidic entry, and the finish was a slight bit truncated I believe due to the stiff tannic character. I do look for this one to soften a bit on the front, and round out on the back in just a few short years. I would say the optimal drinking would be 2023 to 2024. I didn't decant this one, which was probably my biggest problem. If I had to cancel for about 2 hours, it probably would have shown better. Either way, it was gone within about 30 minutes between two drinkers, so......... Definitely worth owning or seeking out.
