December 26, 2008 - Pulled cork and tasted right away and then left open and consumed over 6 hours. Brilliant ruby red purple color.
At first opening it was really disjointed. It smelled like oyster shell, cocktail sauce, with little fruit coming though.

At hour 3 it had shed the oysters and cocktail sauce aromas and started showing Fresh fig, blackberry, raspberry, bittersweet chocolate, open pit BBQ pork, and a nice dose of earth, forest decay, and a hint a licorice. The wine was balance with big tannins and medium acidity.

At hour 6 there blackberry and licorice emerged as bigger players. The oyster shell turned into flinty minerality. There was also plenty of vanilla and ground pepper.

My advise: open this one and let it sit for 4+ hours before drinking. It's not going to fade.
