April 3, 2021 - Very dark red color. Splash decanted mainly for sediment. Drank 2 glasses over 3 hours. I've always loved this nose and we're still going strong today. Dark fruits, blackberries and black raspberry, aromatic with viognier overtones, savory, creosote, beef blood, dried earth fill the nose. This notably had little of the roasted meat notes of previous bottles. The palate has the signature cool feel to the dark berry fruit and more subtle veins of blue fruits; blackberry liqueur, blackberries and cassis, full bodied and suave, savory, tar, earth and refined white pepper. Well integrated and it seems to be flying along on a great plateau. Loved it again.
