July 9, 2021 - Hah, did not wait 3-5 years as recommended by my own TN of 3/28/20. Opened to accompany baked chicken. Dark but translucent ruby. Heady nose of musty cherry, full-blown violets, damp cellar, hints of currant. Layers of iron-laden pulpy raspberry, ripe red plum, earth, velvety meaty tones, and a suggestion of smoke on the palate. Bright acidity and firm tannin. Longer finish of potent red berry fruit, earth, iron, and cinnamon. A hedonistic DDO. Loved it.

10/2/21, 6:33 AM - GREAT note. Your experience mirrored mine exactly. Any advice as to it’s trajectory? What about en magnum? Thanks for the note and any insight.

10/2/21, 7:19 AM - Arthrovine: thanks for the great feedback! Glad it showed well for you and that your experience mirrored mine. As for trajectory, I’m thinking this wine will be in its drinking window for a significant number of years at least (3-5 at the minimum) and even longer in magnum, echoing the aging profile sought by the parent domaine in Beaune. Cheers! Doug
