  January 20, 2009 - Decanted for 1 hour. Med-dark purple color. Somewhat alcoholic nose with graphite, blackberry and hint of earth. Medium body. Flavor of oak, some cassis and anise, hint of green pepper. Medium tannins with long, dry finish. Agree that this wine is a combo of new/old world styles ( just what I've been looking for). Awesome wine for the price that will certainly improve with time.
