August 18, 2021 - a lovely wine. I got close with region and easy to pick as Shiraz but it drank a lot older than 1999. More like something in late 70's or early 80's in colour development and nose but this did not detract from its enjoy ability. Classic Heathcote structure, some mint/eucalyptus, dark red cranberry red current fruit, oily, very sweet and absolutely in it prime. no further ageing needed. outclassed by the 1980 Bests and the 2001 Montrose but still a lovely drop.
