September 24, 2021 - #19-13, 12% abv. This is one of the most (if not the most) glorious bottles of sub-$30 wine I've ever had. The nose is a brilliant mix of rock dust, sweet orchard fruit, and green herbs, and interestingly doesn't have the white fruit that I associated with 2012 at release. There is just the right amount of sweetness hinted at by the nose too. The palate is very complex, and there is absolutely enough fruit that this doesn't feel emaciated. A tiny bit of residual sugar here helps too, I'm sure. Minerally, fresh, and primordially clean, this is some seriously incredible riesling.

As a side note, I bought this on the insistence of Salil and Seth at a phase in my life where I didn't particularly care for drier rieslings. As much as I hate to admit it, they were dead right on this, and I wish I bought a lot more.

9/25/21, 7:42 AM - that Salil... :) this really is an excellently balanced feinherb. i would say it is likely still rather young - what do you think?

9/25/21, 8:53 AM - @Mlermontov: indeed it is still very young. As an aside, I didn't realize that Selbach-Oster released two batches of this; this bottle had the new 2014 label.
