  February 25, 2009 - With several hours of air this becomes more interesting with sweet strawberry and cranberry fruit coming out to play with the balsam and tar. Floral and dusty with cinnamon and some baking spices. Decent ripeness. Ample structure. This is not profound, and it is not the best vintage of the base Giacosa Barbaresco, but it's still a very nice bottle and is still several years from mature, but I will have long since drunk all mine as my 99s and 01s will take even longer to come around :)
