Ex-Ray Does not like this wine: 85 points
February 22, 2022 - I will echo my note of two years ago: "Not as impressive as last time three years ago. Still dark and opaque but more one-dimensional aroma and flavor. Won't get better. May have been a slightly off bottle, since last time it was complex and great."
Actually, I don't think it was an off bottle, but rather a wine prematurely past its peak. This current bottle was one-dimensional, moderately tannic, and lacking much aroma and flavor. I think it's just past its peak. My last '09 and glad of it.

3/4/22, 9:27 AM - I just posted a note on this wine. Mine was quite better than what you described. Not my favorite of the Cayuse lineup for reasons I set out in the note, but I got a lot more life than you seemed to. It makes me wonder if there was something off with your bottles??? Though I did have low expectations given your notes, but I don't think that led me to like what would otherwise be a one-dimensional wine! :-)

3/4/22, 11:24 AM - Thanks. It may have been an off bottle. I had previously given it 93 two years ago and 97 once before that. I have a number of younger ones which I'll start drinking. I think I may just like Impulsivo when it's slightly younger.
