Albariño of vineyards very close to the shore of the Ría de Arousa, about 25 years old on granite Jabre soils and sand at 10 meters of altitude in the Villa de Cambados. Two-week spontaneous fermentation and subsequent 7-month aging with its fine lees in vats. Ripe white fruit, citrus, vanilla, yeasts, large, with volume, elegant, fresh and long.

NOTE: From Winery Tasting Notes Card

This focused garnet hued wine is a pure expression of a typicity of the pinot noir clones planted at the top elevations of the Fort Ross Vineyard. The aroma of this wine captivates with whispers of violets and rose petals. Dark plum, mulberry, pomegranate, and cherry flavors reveal themselves against a background of soft tannins that gently envelop this delightful wine. The layered fruit characteristics of this pinot noir are seamlessly integrated with the ever-present minerality and bright acidity that are the earmarks of our vineyard to provide a smooth and satisfying finish.

Drinking nicely. Mature fruit with some mineral. Balanced with a lingering finish. Great QPR.

A hint of salmon color, just enough to be noticeable if you're looking for it. A bit restrained at first, but that's our fault for not decanting. Opened up as the gathering progress and the second bottle, which was opened along with the first was really singing. I'm inclined to give my next bottle 2 hours of air before pouring. Fruit and acidity nicely balanced. Drinking beautifully now but looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Al naso c'è tutto il corredo di un bel Barolo classico: camino spento, rosa, carne secca, cuoio. Peccato che il sorso sia frenato da tannini fini ma asciuganti. Bella e coerente la retrolfazione ma chiusura davvero brusca.

This is powerful fruit driven and has a lovely flowery (a bit to alco) nose. Peppery cherries with a bitter note, chocolate and blackberry finish. Maybe aging will soften the edges but i will not hesitate drinking now.

Three years passed sincec I tasted it in the winery visitor center... what an amazing difference 👏👏

Partially clear not too dark bright red color, nice 👍

Medium body. Medium acidity. Soft but still noticeable tanines. Nice structure👍

Nicely aromatic, barrels, spices, black and red fruits, ageing 👍

Rich but on the balanced side of the spectrum for n the palate, chocolate, vanilla, pepper, licorice, ginger, plum, blackberries, pomegranate, raspberries, hazelnut, almond 👍

Wonderful wine and a nice VFM👏🍷👏

Needs some air to express: mix of black and red fruit, more black than red currant, lots of spices (gloves, white pepper). After a short decant the wine is well accessible, burgundy stile with a Kaiserstuhl touch.

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": Although it was poured blind, it screamed Big-But-Balanced Napa Cab. Tannins were resolved and softened . Nothing to complain about, but it was a little boring and one dimensional.

This was advertised by the retailer as a similar style to Bouchard/RDJ, in my opinion it was less laser-like than bouchard, and more blanaced and rich - similar to Clos des Goisses. The finish was incredible and lingered for minutes. I bought an additional case the day after I finished my first bottle.

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": What a waste of a beautiful bottle. Up against the Napa reds and Bordeaux, it tasted too lite and too tite. And even worse... the tannins were tough and overpowering. Hopefully in 10 years when it approaches its drinking window, I'll have another chance to try this wine

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": Very nice nose of smoke/fruit. The fruit was suprisingly red fruited ... did not taste Napa-like. The earthy/cigar character made for a complex flavor profile. But missing something in the finish (a little wimpy)

Bottle at a restaurant without decanter. This needed some time to open up, but once it did it was showing lovely dark cherry, plum, and blackberry with well integrated tannins and some very mild leather on the palate. I would expect a little more from a typical 2011 Margaux, but this is easily enjoyable and very far from poor quality. Bottle definitely drank better the farther along we got.

Medium body, with big lemon and apple notes, high minerality. This is a Burgundian style chardonnay in the style of a Meursault, but with a more nervy and thinner - yet still luscious - body.

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": Overpowering Hershey Bar on the nose AND attack. Was way too difficult trying to find the fruit among all the chocolate. I did not enjoy this wine at all, and the crowd was quite divided. The Lokoya, Kacscandy and Insignia outclassed it for sure.

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": Lite, transparent red color with a pretty fruit nose. Gorgeous strawberry- rhubarb fruit. Very light and elegant but such a loooong 30-second finish. (!!!) How can this be 53 years old??? Tasted at Bern's in December, and fortunately David bought a bottle there so I got to try it again 5 months later.

A lot of barnyard on the nose and very acidic on pnp. Opened up throughout the night but on day 2 it seemed to revert back. I don't know, I wasn't really keeping notes but have a few bottles that I will continue to try.

I do like it though, and want to see what it does in a couple of years. I think right now it could do with an hour or two decanting.

Bought from the winery in '13 and snuggled away till now, this may finally be ready to enjoy. Decanted 90 min. Nose of smoky bell pepper, carmel and violets. Diffident in expressing its fruit, it shows plum and blackcurrant on the palette with taut but forgiving structure and medium+ acid. In its drinking window today, but has the stuffing to go another 5 years easy.

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": My favorite among 12 great reds. The nose was overly sweet, as was the attack (someone said it reminded them of Brach's carmels). But the herbal and leather notes from the mid-palate turned it into a complex and non-cloying experience. Great long finish ... tannins are in a perfect place

A fantastic bottle. Purchased almost two decades ago in St. Helena. Loved its pencil shavings and cedar and dark fruit. Had this at a dinner hosted by K&L and Vinovault where a bunch of great bottles were circulating and several thought it was one of the wines of the night.

This bottle was a bit flat, had some good orchard fruit lacked acidity. I don't think it's storage as I've noticed this on a couple older PYCM bottles (2009 CC and 2011 St Aubin Chat) in the last year, where they're not premoxed, but just seem tired and old.

Opened bottle about 7 hours before drinking. Decanted about three hours before drinking. Loved this one, but planning on aging before opening another bottle.

Dirty Dozen at H & H Beverly Center - "Bring Out Your Reds": Brett was so abundant that the nose was off-putting. Obviously some pretty fruit under there but too hard to discernt under all that funk. Sadly, among 11 other wines , there was no time for it to blow off.

Bright and enjoyable. Strongly preferred this to the 2017.

Amazing nose! Violets, mint and spice. Didn't quite live up to the nose while drinking, but still an enjoyable wine.

Nice aged entry-level Rioja, right in the drinking window now. Healthy dark colour, nose mingling berry fruit and earthy elements. In the mouth, some fine-grained but fairly grippy tannins suggest that further ageing is possible; otherwise, fine berry fruit (think blueberry, cassis), and enough flesh. Good long finish, satisfying old-fashioned wine.

Brownish red in color. Dried cranberries and anise. Nicely balanced with higher acid.

Warm and juicy with pineapple, peach and sweet citrus, but with a savoury volcanic minerality that feels quite windswept. Perhaps lacking a tiny bit of acidity but overall very nice.
