Initially very green, but it settled into its own after about 90 minutes in the decanter. It had aromas of blueberries, oak, fig, and plum. The powerful tannins were surprisingly approachable at this age. Another 5-8 years will do this wine well, but it's still a fun, enjoyable, and affordable bottle in its current state.

This was my second time with this wine, and this bottle seemed to be in much better shape! There was a slight off-putting funk after removing the cork, but it quickly faded and was replaced by sweet strawberries, leather, and cassis. The fruit was soft and fading, indicating it was past its prime but still showing life. This bottle performed much better than the first one I had.

A last-minute auction purchase because the price was right! I knew it was a gamble and didn't expect much, but it exceeded all my expectations. It wasn't a showstopper, but it was extremely enjoyable. The nose had earthy notes, a slight barnyard funk, leather, and pencil shavings. On the palate, it was soft, sweet, delicate, and still had lively tannins. I don't expect this wine to improve any further and it was probably better 10 years ago. Nonetheless, it was a treat to open a bottle this old—almost twice my age!

Leaf Day - under Stelvin cap. Pours orange gold into the glass. Nose is classic Gewürztraminer - Lychee, roses, light spice but also now some orange zest. On the palate there’s some oxidative notes for sure but the medium plus acidity is holding and the flavours are really interesting - orange, lychee, roses, spice and a bit of lime zest. The finish is long with the florals, lime, spice and orange continuing. It’s reminding me kinda of Pineau de Charentes. Having it with my first attempt at Piri Piri pizza. I doubt anyone else in the CellarTracker community is silly enough to have this vintage in their cellar but it’s definitely a drink now. It’s really enjoyable and complex.

Last of 3 bottles. Notes from night 1 but flat on night 2 so I don't think this will age well. Red with brown tinges. On nose, tobacco, savory herbs, sweet cherry, strawberry and orange rind (with air). Medium body/acidity and medium+ tannins with a long finish. 92+/- but not a re-buy for me. Enjoyed this on night 1 but fell off on night 2.

Wonderful right-bank Bordeaux and a great value. Drinking very well still; no evidence of a downward slide after being well-stored for 8 years from purchase. I don't think this will improve though, so now's the time to drink up.

Tried this in 2022 and thought it was too rough; now it still has a has a tongue-coating tannin but it’s resolved and ready — will be fine in 2025 too. Needs a flavorful food (eggplant parm) but the acid makes it food-friendly.

PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium purple. Nose: Clean. Medium+ intensity with developing aromas of lush black and red fruit - blackberry, cassis, raspberry; red licorice, baking spice, new leather, and black olive - so stuffed and complex. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin is round and soft, pronounced intensity - exceptionally dense, medium+ body, 14.8% abv with developing flavors of perfectly ripe black raspberry, black olive, baking spice, and licorice with a long finish.

Balance: Excellent
Length: Outstanding
Intensity: Outstanding
Complexity: Excellent-Outstanding

An outstanding wine that is dense, complex and long. The phenolic ripeness was nailed in this wine, if it could have been done at 14.3% abv instead of 14.8% abv this would have ranked with the best wines I've ever tasted. It's still close though - outstanding wine drinking well with 2+ hours of air today, better in 2-3 years and 3-5 beyond.

Have a glass and let the rest sit in the bottle for 3 or 4 nights before you consume the rest because the acidity is otherwise unbearable, at least for my taste. Tastes like Bobal in a cement tank, alright. Great for the price.

Medium expressive nose displaying remnant of sweet red fruit, a hint of cherry and plum, strong soub bois, noticeable VA, damp cellar, leather and earth. Fully integrated palate, shy but sweet red fruit, quite rich and fluid, bright acidity, medium mineral, fully resolved tannins and a long sweet red fruit driven finish with VA and leather at the end. Past its prime by a couple decades but still enjoyable for what it is.

Nutty, stone fruit, only a hint of citrus. Good palate weight, with firmness and richness. Nuts, buttery oak, orchard fruits. It’s young, and hoping the oak gets more integrated with time.

Deepruby color. Very slight fading beginning to occur on the edge. Medium aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice and pepper. Tannins have softened nicely by this point. Full bodied, high alcohol, medium acidity. Pronounced flavors as described with aromas, with the fruit being on the jammy side. Long finish.

55% 2015/45% Reserves to 2012. Disg 01/04/23. 3.5 g/L. A very nice, classic BdB using wood for some choice seasoning. That is a nice ginger tinge. It finds a nice midpoint between full bodied and lean. A touch of autolytic and a pop of yeast. Decent depth says this will age fairly nicely. Not required though air did this some favors. Another quality wine from Doquet.

Day one i
I’d give this an 84. There’s a funky reductive note that hangs around for quite some time. Most didn’t care for the wine, so I popped it back in the fridge. Amazing what a day can do to transform a wine. The overly reductive character is gone (and don’t get me wrong, I love flinty reductive notes…this was just bizarre). The wine is full of licorice and earth. Minimal fruit character to be found here. Still not a crowd pleaser for sure, but I’m enjoying it for its unique terroir expression. I wish there was more acid here, as it’s on the low side for champagne, which is to say…medium.

Big glycerin wine…thickest slowest legs
It starts borderline jammy but acidity kicks right in to
Keep it from being syrupy…
Loads of blackberry plum graphite tar and firm tannins and plenty of acidity to lift the finish…
Cali cab all the way…
For the price it’s better than many of Mike Smiths upper end cabs
Delish but at $125 it’s a bit rich

Burgundian nose with complexity, balance and minimality. Creme brûlée on the palate. Perhaps, like a "huge" Montrachet. Delicious and special wine.

Expressive nose displaying generous red and black fruit, strawberry jam, blackberry jam, dry cherry, licorice, balsamico, caramel, lather, tar, a hint of rose, cinnamon and iron. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of decadent red and black fruit, rich and chewy, bright acidity, strong iron mineral, and a long decadent red and black fruit driven finish with licorice and iron at the end. This seems more structured and better balanced than the Giacosa Asili.

Plum skin, embers, black pepper, iron and meat.
Very lovely mouthfeel, with softened tannins, showing off some savory olive paste, black peppercorns, and a hint of mint.
Drink this gorgeous wine now, it is very nice.

Still has a dark core. Evolved bouquet, with aromas of dark berries, dark licorice, cola, wet slate. It’s still concentrated and robust, with a full palate weight. Tannins are integrating and velvety. There’s a warming richness here. Half the bottle was consumed the following day, with negligible deterioration.
