I believe this wine received about a 2 hour Slo-O.

This was in a blind line up of some very prestigious 2019 Napa reds (and one 2016 thrown in), specifically:

2019 MacDonald
2019 Kinsman Eades La Voleuse Du Chagrin
2019 Kinsman Eades Anjea Sleeping Lady Vineyard
2019 Colgin Tychson Hill
2019 Realm Absurd
2019 Scarecrow
2019 Harlan
2019 Myriad Elysian
2019 La Pelle Res
2019 Magnificent 7
2019 Cliff Lede Songbook
2016 Colgin Tychson Hill

2019 Cliff Lede Songbook - This wine may have suffered slightly from being last in the line up and also from following the Mag 7. The wine is nice and I did like it...one of the best values in the tasting for sure! My take on this was that it is too young and didn't stand out....which is a double edge sword, right? It didn't stand out as anything special amongst some unbelievable wines, but it also didn't stand out as though it didn't belong! If I was younger and starting a cellar, or drank much more wine than I do, I would definitely add this to my cellar! 95+ and will definitely rate higher with time in the cellar....I believe this wine needs at least 10 years to really reward drinkers.

A real beautoful character to the nose. Peonounced nose, lovely and lively.

Perfectly preserved bottle at a restaurant. No tannins left but seamlessly integrated, delicate aged wine with red/purple fruit (but not the prune/stewed fruit note older wines can get to) with great tertiary notes of earth, tobacco, and sandalwood spice. Really a special occasion treat.

Brought to room temp and aired in the bottle for about 45 minutes. This is a sexy Grenache blend from some of the top vineyards in Paso. A touch on the hot side but great mouth feel with blue and red fruits, spicy pepper and a long finish.

Terrific balance—M/M+ body, M+ acid and intensity. Fresh citrus and just-ripe stone fruit and melon. I’m told neutral oak, and probably a short time or only partial. Paired beautifully with a seafood-based Spanish meal.

Wine Rating Methodology
96-100: One of the most enjoyable wines I have ever tasted. I would not hesitate to open this wine for any Master of Wine.
91-95: Extremely enjoyable wine that I would drink and buy again. Fantastic to open up for those who appreciate wine.
85-90: Decent to good wine. Weekday bottle you don’t feel guilty about not finishing.
Below 85: would not drink or buy again.
***Price of wine vs. enjoyment (value) is taken into consideration
***I do not provide tasting notes as everyone’s palate is different, and will have a different experience.

Pale to mid straw. Good grip on the attack. A slightly waxy, mid to fullish weight with stone fruit and a touch of ciustard apple. Nice texture upfront. Lacks med palate complexity or much interest on the finish. Solid, but hardly exciting. ***1/2

At Pierre’s in Bridge. Similar to its winemaker’s label PYCM, this wine was terrific once given time to open. Neither heavy or delicate, it it the spot with some oysters and sardines. I enjoy the Morey wines and wish they were a little more accessible in the US.

Having consumed 6 bottles, we (6 wine drinkers) decided to up-grade Amicale to a rating of 90. it is a very nice dry "baby" Amarone - and we decided to buy another 24 bottles.

Dark ruby, youthful appearance. Licorice, violets, taragon, and black raspberry scents with a pleasing high-toned liqueur essence. Rather tangy initial bite that unfortunately predominates the mixed red berry/plum palate, ultimately culminating in a bitter-tinged finish. Best to consume within two hours of opening. This bottle aerated longer than previous one.

German white wine from Mosel: Riesling. 7 % alcohol. Total Acidity, 10,2 g/l. Residual Sugar 98,6 g/l.

AP number #17 15. 750 ml bottle. Decanted one hour prior to consumption and stored in the decanter during the evening.

Medium golden color.

Sweet, delicate and fresh aromas of honey, earth, bicycle store, lemon, white flowers, ripe apricots and minerals. Sweet, powerful and fresh flavors of pineapple, lemon, bicycle shop, dried apricots, yogurt, butter, yellow flowers and minerals.

Semi-sweet. Full body. Fresh acidity. Very good balance. Very good structure. Some complexity. Very good concentration. Good intensity.

Medium finish with apricot and butter.

A very good and enjoyable Auslese. Ripe, full body, pineapple and mineral driven with a high acidity. Improves with air and performs best fridge cold. More of a sipper than something that should be combined with food. Drinks perfectly right now and I see no reason for further aging. Delicious. 93/100

NOSE: epoxy; lightly nutty - praline pecans; medium+ expressiveness.

BODY: light bodied; pale amber color.

TASTE: high acid; 15% alc.; slightly oxidative; light varnish; tastes like the flor died-away just a bit --- this is not a salinic or fresh-tasting as is a typical Fino. Not as much depth or richness as Amontillado/Oloroso/Palo Cortado, and not as bright/fresh as a Fino, and despite its high acidity, I can't escape wishing there was a bit more -- it's just a bit flat for my preferences -- it's still good, no doubt, but not a re-buy for me at the $40 I paid. As far as idiosyncratic Fino goes, the bottlings from Equipo Navazos tend to be better.

Slo-oxed for 10 minutes, but definitely needs more air as it continued to open during the meal. The color was a really deep purple. Lots of bright red and dark red fruits on both the nose and the medium bodied palate. These were joined by some spice, some earth, and lively but balancing acidity. Any tannins were completely integrated. This wine could hold for several more years.

A very nice bottle of this. Similar tasting note to my last one, the oak hasn‘t fully integrated (and maybe never will), but it‘s not disturbing, shifting slightly into „bacon“ flavors. There is a nice overall balance of fruit, structure and some tertiary aromatics starting to show. I wouldn‘t push my luck on aging here, this seems to be in a good place to drink up.

Double Blind tasting
Medium ruby color with mild rim clearing and mild bricking
Medium plus aromas of black cherry/ plum with rhubarb/ leather and cigarette ash - dried florals/potpourri notes appearing with time in the glass - no new oak notes
Medium plus bodied with palate of red/ black cherry with syrup notes and again ash notes
Medium plus medium grained tannins and medium plus alcohol with medium plus acidity
I initially was thinking volcanic origin due these ashy notes but this really didn't match the other findings
I called this Aglianico but really didn't feel the color was right
Floral/ potpourri notes didn't really become evident until opened for a while
I really enjoy this wine and see better things to come - would hold 5-7 yrs or now with a healthy decant

PnP, chilled. As the name implies = no oak, no malo; just Chardonnay.
Citrus aromas. Lots of lemon, some green apple, a touch of peach and a hint of minerality with searing acidity with a medium body. Very palate cleansing. Will probably hold for another couple of years.

Pale gold color
Medium aromas of candied lemon and yellow florals with mild noted of grass and green herbs with dry rock minerality
Medium bodied with palate of fresh lemon/ orange and apple with distinct minerality at back of palate
Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with mild to moderate phenolic bitterness
Medium length led by acidity and bitter notes
I went with Albarino here due to my perhaps overcalled phenolics - didn't really pick up the pyrazines until after the reveal
In any case I really liked this SB - very different from both Loire and NZ
My first encounter with this wine and quite impressed

Cherry. Plum. Cedar. Mocha. So all the right flavours but lacked intensity. Not really a Margaux tasting wine. Medium bodied and perhaps lacking vibrancy. Poor QPR and lacks the fluid charm that I like about 2009 as a vintage. Don’t avoid if offered but perhaps don’t seek out!

Wow.. 2021 vintage was quite a hard one. But right of the bat this smells so fresh and lively, so clean. Red fruit, smokey, cinnamon, nutmeg. Ever so slighty reductive note of struck match on the nose. Great skeleton of acidity, fruit freshness and ripeness, has a good life ahead of itself. Beautiful.

Received a partial bottle from my oenophile neighbor
14.3% abv

Had a glass with Grilled Sirloin Steak and trimmings. Light red on the pour; clear in the glass. Red Berries and spices on the nose. A light-bodied Pinot Noir with Dark Cherries on the palate along with some Cranberry, with zest and spice notes. Moderate tannins but prominent acidity. Subtle hints of minerality on the pleasant, lingering finish.

Limited production with only 125 cases produced. A classic Pinot Noir. Spouse Endorsed.

What the heck? Why is this cheapo wine so good? Get it before it gets pricey, I say. For me, a hit of tobacco on first sip, with some slurpable melon, raspberry and strawberry. Low acid, some tannins, medium bodied. It doesn't have the refinement of better wines - it's a little jammy - but it's well balanced and could hold its own against many more expensive purchases.

Medium ruby color with mild clearing at rim and mild bricking
Medium plus aromas of black cherry/ dark plum with notes of cedar/ graphite/ leather and hints of pepper - really no notable new oak on the nose
Medium bodied with palate of red cherry/ bell pepper and dry earthy notes - some green stem notes to finish
Medium plus well integrated tannins and medium alcohol with medium plus acidity
Great finish led by fruit and tannins
Drinking well now but can hold for another 3-7 yrs if desired
Great higher elevation heritage vineyard Ca Cabernet - this really reminds me of an old school Cabernet - old Togni perhaps?
Highly recommended

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.

Strong spicy nose with light cedar, tobacco, chocolates and licorice.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black plums, black currants, coffee, light cedar, cola, light earth, herbs, tobacco leaf and dried meat.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Franc from Lazio, Italy. An interesting wine that feels more like a Right Bank Bordeaux.

This 11 year old is tasty right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Rich, yet elegant.

Would be nice to revisit it again in 3 years.

A good quality wine. Good by itself or with food.

100% Cabernet Franc grapes were aged in oak barrels for 20 months.

14% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$100.

You get a lot of fruits - its red cherries also hint of strawberries and raspberries - we also get - we are also getting forrest floor, wood and some menthol - a nice balance - tannins are medium - acidity is a bit higher - but not affecting the balance - for me the wine is at the moment a bit closed - not giving so much - it is a well made wine - and I will start with 92.
