Robe foncée. Nez complexe: du fruit, un peu de végétal, mais aussi sous-bois. En bouche la matière est très agréable, veloutée, le fruit ressort bien, c'est complexe et délicieux. Très bon!

Mostly wet rock and strawberry scents, has structure and moves in sequence, tight enterence with raspberry hints, dry earth through the mid-palate, and a floral finish, dry, brims with character, although on the intellectual side, has mouthwatering appeal

Pale straw.
Enjoyed this bottle over 5 days, a glass each day, watching it evolve from and understated, muted wine to a very delicate and pretty melange of white spring blossom, lime with hints of Kaffir, saline, seaside mineralite and oyster shell. Hints of honey and burnt butter as time went on.
Conclusion: I should enjoy more botts over several day.

Tannins are starting to mellow out and there is still plenty of fruit left. Classic barbaresco - good value for money.

very dark color, intense nose of cherry, tobacco, leather and a gentle touch of vanilla. Medium to full bodied, with ripe red fruits like cherries, berries and plums, some tobacco and licorice, tannins are well developed, good mineral feeling and freshness, overall a very good balance. Long finish, best wine a my BD blind wine tasting event...

2012 was a dry year, giving smaller berries with thicker skins. This elegant wine is perfumed, with violet and floral notes. On the palate there is leather, tar and cedar, alongside black cherries. Good structure in balance with the fruit. The finish is long and there is some complexity. Drinking now and over the next 10 years.

2018 was a wet year, meaning higher yields, larger berries, less concentration. Elegant with nice dark fruit with tar, leather, spice and tobacco. Medium weight, fruit and structure nicely in balance. The structure is good without being too strong. Good length and straightforward. Drinking now and over the next 10 to 20 years

Wonderful wine, ready to drink, glad I have one more 👏

Dark, mostly cloudy, bright, ruby red color with shades of purple 👏

Full to medium body. Low to medium acidity. Soft tanines. Smooth. Nice structure 👏

Nicely aromatic - mixture of oak, spices and fruits 👏

Rich, full, round and complex on the palate - a great mixture of tobacco, dark chocolate, coconut, vanilla, pepper, licorice, cinnamon, anise, plum, strawberries, blackberries, pomegranate, leather, stone, earthy 👏

Lovely wine, have couple of more🍷

Basic simple and not too good semi dry Primitivo wine. Was (in principle) bought to my daughter's boyfriend, but I stole a seep 😊

Nice bright clear(❗️) dark ruby red color. Lovely 👏

Medium to full body. Medium minus acidity. Soft but well noticeable tanines. Not too smooth.

Mildly aromatic. Dried fruit, red fruits, spices, not I sure like it 🥺

Mainly fruits on palate, cherry, raisin, strawberries, vaguely baking chocolate, pepper, licorice and anise, with a bitter unpleasant side taste spoiling everything 😞

Another stellar bottle, no decanting required. This qualifies as one of my favorite Chiantis—reliably impressive every time. Beautiful, viscous ruby, lovely spice-laden cherry nose, and ripe cherry palate. This is the whole package. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

Red ruby color with some orange/browning on the rim. Second day of drinking with pleasant notes of sweet tobacco, soft leather, lovely violets, Soft, round, and juicy on the palate, with plenty of crunchy red berries, red cherries, and mineral notes, finishing long with slight tertiary hints. Tannins show some slight grip, but are otherwise round, and still shows plenty of acid. Decant for sediment and let it aerate for at least 40 minutes.

Beautifully wrought Pinot that is very clearly central,Otago in style. Rich, with some whole bunch character. On the riper side of the spectrum, and slightly commercial, in terms of appeal, but there is an under flying sense of serious purpose to this, and with age, the wine will absolutely develop positively. 89+ should be outstanding in two or three years.

Served by the glass from screw top bottle. Straw color. Lemon curd, gardenia, orange sherbet, and subtle cream cheese. Dry, tart palate, with good body and acidity.

Had as a starter at our local steakhouse. I liked this ‘22 better than the ‘21 I had last year at the same restaurant. ‘22 might be a better vintage than ‘21 for whites in Sonoma and Napa. Recently had an Aubert that was really great. The reds are definitely worse.

A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. 12.5% ABV. Bottle and cork in pristine condition. The wine was very tight upon opening, so I chose to decant for three hours in the morning, and poured the wine over dinner. Dark garnet colour. Red and dark fruit, red cherry, blackberry, black currant, tobacco, some chocolate, some coffee, graphite, spices, light smoke, and pebbly minerality, with good, fresh acidity, mostly resolved tannin, and superb length. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, creamy texture. Well balanced and very harmonious. A great Bordeaux! Drink now with extended aeration and enjoy, or hold for ten years.

Last tasted this a few weeks back at Jon's place in a Kvetna burg glass and this was showing a lot more sweet oak character.

This time, I had it in a much smaller GG StandArt and man, it's showing even better. The oak comes through a lot less aggressively and the wine shows a ton more minerality. Tastes closer to a CM now than California, while still retaining a good bit of that ripe character.

Interestingly enough, I had the remainder of this on day 3 in a Sophienwald bordeaux glass, and a lot of the fruit had died off, leaving behind oak and alcohol, which was not very fun. So if you're going to open this, just grab a few buddies and polish it off in one go.

Quite floral in nature, with lemon rind, tangerine, vanilla, honeysuckle, pineapple, and white peach with a dab of honey are a pleasure in your glass. Fresh, vibrant, racy, clean, and pure, with a salty-honeyed note accompanying all of the sweet, ripe, orange, and yellow tropical fruits really works here in the mid-palate, and in the finish. The wine blends 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon, 4% Sauvignon Gris, and 1% Muscadelle. Picking took place August 23 - September 7. Drink from 2025-2035. 95 Pts.

Clear medium ruby in the glass.

Really un-Yoichi-like nose here that's instead a lot darker. There a good mix of red and darker fruit here as well as a bit of spice and some menthol. It's still quite a lovely nose albeit leaning more towards savoury.

The palate is a different story and has fairly concentrated fruit and a certain darkness to it, not unlike spatburgunder or Central Otago PN. Plenty of structure here with fine but somewhat unresolved tannins, and I think this has the legs to go a long way, perhaps longer than most Japanese pinots i've tried.

Acidity is on the lower side compared to its counterparts, but the wine is by no means flabby.

Really curious as to the winemaking and viticulture here, because this is extremely promising!

If wines are to be placed in cabernet-like and pinot-like buckets, then this easily tastes more like pinot. Ruby red, light body, high acidity. The flavor is tart, like cranberries and strawberries. It’s somewhat floral, but not especially so. There isn’t much to get excited about here. Unless you’re a somm…. I’d be excited about this as a somm because of the clean, tangy red fruit.

La Gravotte is 100% Pinot Noir that is hand-harvested at optimum ripeness with 10 days of carbonic maceration before spending 8 months in oak barrels. Super pale ruby in the glass. Strong VA on the nose and palate. Soft tannins, high acidity, moderate alcohol. Light-bodied, but the fruit doesn't seem to shine at this stage. Would be good to revisit in a few years, hopefully the VA blows off.

Amazing wine. I don’t buy this very often . This is not a wine for aging and has seen no oak.
If you come across it and have the opportunity buy 1x6 and enjoy .
Super example of every day claret from a really good year.
Pleasant typical nose. Smooth entry and surprisingly full mouthfeel.
15-30 minute decant with no sediment.

Retail $65. Exceedingly Heavy Bottle. Under cork. As I mentioned in a previous note, I do not have a ton of experience with Merriam Vineyrads. Nor do I have a ton of bottles of Merlot under my "tasting" belt (insert *Sideways* joke here if so inclined). But. This is delightful. Fairly dark in color with black and blue berry, cassis, and a hint of plum on the nose. The palate is both more reserved and acid-driven than I had expected. Yeah, I would say this is more Old World than New, but at this point does it matter? This is delicious.

Still showing well especially for a rosso in a hot year. Although it could really pass for Brunello from most producers as it met the aging requirements. Medium bodied and still retaining good cherry fruit to go along with the tobacco and clean finish. This certainly doesn't compare to the big brother bottlings here, but quite nice with fatty charcuterie or tomato based sauce dishes. A lovely wine, but a drink now/soon.
