One of the best Kamen Cabs I ever had. Slight brownish hue.
The ‘15 is at an almost perfect spot palate-wise. Explosion of flavors, layer upon layer of freshly picked blackberry fruit, currants, and slightly black plum. Oak is way in the back, the fruit is so fresh and vibrant. The acidity is so balanced, the tannins have resolved. There are additional notes of mint, dark chocolate, worn leather and eucalyptus. Excellent from start to finish.

Very light bodied, almost like a rosé. Has nice dark berry flavors and a lovely bouquet. Very different but worth seeking out.

This deep-to-opaque ruby wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Malbec, 17% Carménère and 6% Petit Verdot, aged in a combination of French oak barriques (90%) and foudres (10%). Of the wine aged in barriques, 70% of the barrels were new. Aromatically expressive of red currant, raspberry and Mandarin orange fruit, it adds accents of savory herbs, coriander seed and graphite. Full-bodied, fresh and without any heat from its 13.5% alcohol, it delivers flavors mirroring the aromas and stays solid on the mid-palate. There is a fair amount of oak, but contextually it is fine, as are the plentiful sweet tannins. Long and energetic at the conclusion, this is an impressive Chilean Bordeaux-styled blend that should show well and evolve over the next decade. Drink now-2034.

PnP. Still going strong! Consistent with previous note.....so balanced for this blend. Last bottle we drank was in 2018.

Previous note: Decanted for 30 mins. Blend is really is coming together. Very well balanced.

Really liked this tonight, slight note of matchstick, citrus and stone fruits on the nose, slight savory hints and apples on the palate, grippy texture with bright acidity and a medium plus finish.

Decanted an hour.
Dark fruit. Milk Chocolate Mocha. Gravel. Fresh bag of licorice. Plenty of acid and tannin to keep it interesting. All aging together beautifully. No signs of slowing down.

Short note from memory. From purchased grapes grown by Abiko family at Sagae, Yamagata. Typical unfiltered orange-esque wine. Passion fruit and yeast. Good concentration for a Japanese wine, the top, middle, and the bottom of the bottle taste different, which increases the fun. The wines from the winery’s own grapes are much more interesting though. 88-89.

Nicely polished, great finish. 15% ABV, surprisingly so!

Very tight and not that good on day one. Came alive on day 2: Black fruit in front of a low noted, earthy core with a tangy finish the starts mid-palate and takes over into the long finish. Mid-palate flavors are herb-driven, especially thyme. Tannins are still awkward, not quite chunky but not pillowy soft either. Get a sense this could go quite a ways. Tasted next to a 2017 Oregon (Cameron 2017 Clos Electrique) and a 2014 California (Cartograph Perli), this was the lower noted wine with all 3 delivering fruit up front and tangy finishes, but this one's deep earthy core stood out.

I know the wine is young but drinking incredible right now. Tannins are soft and rounded after a two hour decant. Wine is full bodied and robust with black cherry and currants. It will absolutely improve but great now.

5th anniversary wine. Harkens back to BYOB at dish dive. Super enjoyable wine with red fruits and moderate structure. Feels fresh with life ahead. Tina says this aged WORSE than our marriage. We will see again next year!

This pours light ruby in the glass with a touch of pink and orange toward the watery rim. The nose is immediately expressive showing rose petals, dried orange peel, cranberry, rose water, sandalwood, flinty crushed rock, saline, and noted nutty new french oak. The palate enters on cranberry and orange peel with medium tannin and medium plus acid. The finish closes on rose petals and vitamin tablet with a touch of the new oak protruding a little today.

This needs lots of air to show the beautiful lemon zest, apple, lime and mineral notes on the nose, rich and generous mouthfeel on the attack, medium plus acidity is well restrained and impeccably balanced

I was expecting this wine to be a “goner” but no. It still has a beautiful nose with plenty of fruit left right off the bottle. Properly stored, I think it still has a couple of years left.

Agree that this needs at least an hour or two of decant. Will also definitely improve with age and is still early in its drinking window. Good QPR.

Highly concentrated, with serious tannins and acid still in place. Will be updating the drinking window, as it's way off and most certainly did not end right years ago. That said, this is by no means an elegant Burgundy, and the red fruit comes across as intense, almost spicy. Feels boozier than its advertised 13%.

Aroma is a deep blackberry. Tastes of blackberry and some cherry, pretty bold. Finishes with berry. Wow, quite good and still pretty young.

Popped and poured, clean cork. The wine is drinking very well, no natural wine issues, good rich fruit, but even though it was quite enjoyable, it didn’t seem to offer much Saint Joseph sense of place. Still it was nice, yum

Clear medium lemon; clean medium plus nose of subtle caramel and fresh lemon; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of caramel and butter; long finish; drink now or in 10 years; subtle, elegant wine that sneaks up on you; excellent balance and refinement; not blinded -Halpern Jadon tasting

Upfront bite mellows over time so leave open a bit longer. The two of us plit over whether the bite is citrus or spice or white pepper. Strong red fruit with high acid and medium tannins earthy to close.

Golden straw colored, full bodied, full round forward fruit flavors that the winemakers cites as “powerful notes of white peach, red apple skin, and toasted brioche” , with notes of what Wine Spectator describes as “melon, peach and nectarine notes on a sleek and juicy frame, with accents of lemon blossom, dried ginger and apple skin.”

Hadn’t had one of these for a few years and it is crushing along nicely. Well integrated and smooth, black olive tapenade and cocoa, tea and cedary notes and flavours. Well balanced, oak settled in to the fruit, great length and finish with those trademark Coonawarra tannins.

Agree with the other 95 on this list. Ridiculously balanced: soft ripe cherries yield to a muted violet backdrop; finish is long, medium body, medium acid. With Salmon on the grill.

Earthy, thyme, and cranberry.
Minerally, gravelly, cherry with a medium smooth finish.

Deep blood orange in the glass. Nice combo of red berry fruit (wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant) and bready notes on the nose. Medium-bodied, medium (+) acidity with just a peck of tannins. Everything in balance. Good depth. Finish could be longer. Paired with crunchy Cheetos. Nice.

Delightfully Burgundian, yet somehow also new world. Steely, minerally, elegant, with a lovely kiss of apple and pear. Basing note upon first night, as by the second it had become oxidized with heavy tropical and sherry notes.
