Young and tannic still, needed a long decant. Deep and brooding with complex, clay, earthy aromas. Will need a few more years to be ready. 93-94

Earthy, a bit of funk, northern rhone style, complex fruit flavors with oak overtones, good structure, drank with grilled pork tacos with lots of sides -guac, grilled pineapple, refried beans, etc, 13.5% abv, great pairing, aging seems to have enhanced the wine's complexity, will drink again.
White
Very pronounced white flower aroma. Or maybe just very pronounced. Palate is juicy and simple, which is probably as it should be.
White - Sparkling
Smells like white flowers and a little bit of wine making funk to it. Esy does it.

6 years old and drinking very well .......
Wish I had more

In a fantastic window. Decanted for 3 hours before drinking. Deep purple with smoked meats and bacon. Dark berried fruit with secondary characteristics sneaking in. The best of both worlds - dried blueberry, hints of leather and plowed earth. Right where I like it. Layered and well textured and a lingering finish. A winner.

Attractive nose of red cherry, oak spices, some bacon and earthy elements. Easy going but not simple.

Nose: pineapple, white flower, caramel, flint
Notes: quite a bit of salinity on the palate with a tropical fruits aroma. Tillets has always been the more steely vineyard in Meursault and often produce whites that are more cold and flinty, thus produce from this vineyard is quite different to the other cuvees from the Domaine. Nevertheless I am really not a big fan of the vintage for Burgundy whites, usually the whites from this vintage and quite lean and mean. I already find this Javillier to be quite appealing in 2021 standards but I think I would always prefer a 20 or 19 over a 21 for whites. Probably a couple more years would help.

Smells really good, with deep yellow/orange fruit seasoned with a pinch each of ras el hanout and toasted almond. Big, powerful fruit on the palate, a distinct note of parma violets, and again the sense of something exotic. Very long, creamy, lipsmacking finish. I really enjoyed this (more than the 2009 of the same wine, which seemed a bit over-oaked by comparison).

Okhuysen-The Netherlands-proeven tussen de stellingen: A bit pronounced wood, lots of juicy red fruit, lovely citrus, smooth bitters; the tannins however still need some time to soften.

I was hoping for more. But still very good. Not really a distinctive wine. 87% Grenache and 13% Syrah

Aromas show muted dark fruit, cherries, and a savouriness to it (beefy?). Also forest floor, like you are deep within a thick damp forest.

The flavours are a bit stewed dark berry and plum fruit, with cherries. Like a slightly bitter fruit sauce made for meats. Getting similar flavours I got from the aromas. Also some cherry cough lozenges type of flavour, and some orange peel/orange zest. Tannins are dusty and smooth and not overpowering, but on the bitter side of the spectrum (not sweet side). Very earthy element as well. Longish finish. I did enjoy the wine. It could have been smoother but the stewed flavours muddle it a bit.

Well this has an extroverted powerful nose. Such a wonderful nose to it. Palate and grippy and powerful on the palate, really fairly tightly wound. A compound of several different vineyards, including Saradenari, Annuziata, and others. While not being heavy nor ponderous like some 2019, it is wound up very tight.

Christian Eedes, Winemag: “Red and black berries, fynbos, lilies and white pepper on the nose. The palate is juicy and luscious – great depth of fruit, soft but sufficient acidity and powdery tannins. Opulent, as always, but still retaining balance. 94pt“

Weißburgunder is certainly not my favorite grape variety, but the ‘Pichl Pinot Blanc’ convinced me completely. Produced by the Großkemat estate, a small family-run winery in the beautiful alpine village of Prissian-Tisens (located about fifteen kilometers south of the city of Meran, South Tyrol). Color: bright straw-yellow with greenish highlights. Nose: lovely bouquet offering scents of white blossom, peach, nectarine and a hint of lemon zest and vanilla. On the palate: a juicy, well-balanced wine dominated by succulent pear, yellow stone and citrus fruit with quite a creamy texture and a refreshing acid structure. Finish: good mineral aftertaste with a slight touch of honey. Drinking window: now–2026.

A little higher production wine to make the brand more viable might be the idea. Very pronounced nose, and full in the mid-palate, and then a bit short on the finished. And overall, the nose is engaging, the palate is not.

pleasant enough rose, on the lighter, drier side.
White
More hard edged than some, leaner, more mineral, and in the field, a fairly thin mid-palate. Refers to vineyards that are very close to the wet cloudy bay, which knocks back the punchy fruit notes to it. More elgant and refined is the idea.

No note taken. On first pour, this reminded me of Seleque's PN Soliste, with a bit more concentration and depth. Enjoyable now and best after 45 minutes. There was a mousy note on that first sip that disappeared. 73% PN 27%, two years on the lees, disgorged 03/2023 at 0 g/l.

Another great showing from Greece. Bouquet of delicate red fruit and rose. Delicate on the palate despite having depth of flavour, with gorgeous piquant acidity. A serious wine made with a light touch, and delicious too.

So big its gone green. And a little bit of the smoke character to it. Rich in the mid palate, but short on the finish. But under screw cap, so maybe needs some time.

Very Good-
Though not a great Sancerre, this was a very good pairing with baked grouper with garlic, tomato, olives, some lemon and herbs de provence. On the riper side, showing some tropical notes, but retaining some underlying sweet grass and gooseberry.

An OK buy on sale at $23 USD a couple years ago.

Day 2: less harsh with some enjoyment. Recorked 1/2 bottle.
Day 4: this really came together and was enjoyable. Nutty and a hint of citrus. This needs several more years to come together. 2028+. 92+

Light, pleasant wine. No need to cellar longer. More aperitif than a food wine. Drank 2 bottles.

A mix of red and purple berries on the nose with a little pepper and earth. On palate was not lush, but balanced bright fruit (cherry, berries), acidity, tannins and pretty dry. This was a nice sipper, but really came alive when accompanied by food (Cuban in this case). Would go well with red sauce dishes, pork, chicken, etc. A steal and one of the better QPR wines I've had.

A very nice and typical riesling. Expressive nose of citrus, wet stone and kerosene. Light bodied but concentrated at the same time. Youthful acidity keeps everything together. It is also very reasonably priced. Not especially complex but tasty and satisfying all the same.

The wine is at its best upon opening. Reductive and tons of mineral but it weakens as more air gets in and reveals increasing amount of acidity and oak influences which I don’t really like that much. Interesting……

Fifth bottle of this, and one of the best; it's such a good wine. Ineffable nose that provides a warm olfactory cuddle. Quite a bit of fruit on the palate, but in an original register: unlike the plethora of red fruit found on tonight's earlier wines, I tasted banana and sweet orange here, although ultimately this wine isn't so much about its individual characteristics as the simple fact that it's unique and delicious. My and the group's WOTN. 12.5%

Decanted for 2+ hours at a dinner with friends. Very tight at first, acting like a young and very tannic wine. Patience paid off, as the wine opened up into a well-balanced structured wine. Drank it with marinated hangar steak cooked over mesquite charcoal. Sadly, the decant was long enough that we did not open my second bottle. Drinking window on this wine seems to be 5 yrs longer (or more) than on CT. I’d say until 2029 (or longer). No evidence of going around the bend in color or palate. Just needs a longish decant.

In a great place and drinking very well -- white burgundy with bubbles. 180720 along the margin of the front label, which I am told is the bottling (2018) and disgorgement (July 2020). Presumably a 2017 base.
