Good stuff. Not as distinctive as I recall from tasting it at the winery but a solid icewine (or icebox wine, as the case may be).

I mean, it's a Cab Franc form Rhode Island. Red fruit. Black peppers. Novelty.

When I pulled off the capsule, it looked like the cork was a little dry with a crack in it. I was nervous, because I've been excited to have this wine. I opened it, and it smelled like sour apple juice and vinegar. In examining the bottom of the cork, there were more cracks and grayish slimy mold. I didn't taste it because the smell was very overpowering and bad. So disappointed. I'm not sure if it was my fault with storage, because I have had this bottle for quite some time. I don't have a proper cellar, so it's possible the climate was too dry.

Rather off-dry. Pleasantly floral and fruity, but a little swampy on the nose and just a touch disjointed on the palate. Best chilled down very cold on a hot day. $12.

The oak is as I remembered it, not overpowering. The prominent citrus and lime finish is still the highlight. It is a fine option, although I think there are likely better options at this price point.

Slow legged, full bodied nose of dark fruit. Bright fruit on the palate, heavy, and mild/medium tannins. Nice long finish. I like it a lot, but prefer it in winter with foods that offset the acidity like cheese. Goes well with red sauce pasta dishes as well. Enjoy with a meal or on your couch!

I absolutely love this wine! Medium legs, medium bodied, beautiful aromas on the nose of fruit and earth. Very bright and naturally fruity wine that balances acid well against sweetness. The finish is medium/short... but prepare yourself... have more than one bottle on hand as you will need multiple after the first sip of this beauty! Great hybrid!

Not a fan, thin wine similar to a red zin. Nothing to remember. Really wish New England could produce more body in the local wines.

Guessing this was about 3-5 years after release, a NV gift from an east coast relative. Made in Rhode Island, a blend of Lemberger, Cabernet Franc and Chancellor was surprisingly fresh, and did look, smell and taste like an Austrian Blaufrankirsch (same grape as Lemberger)! Very clean and refreshing, versatile food wine, and nicely done. Scored in consideration of source, and good winemaking.

To my mind, Virginia is premier Cab Franc country in the US - but the Rhode Island shore makes a strong showing for itself with this bottle from Sakonnet. Not as robust as its cousins from Virginia, but very nice, with a unique hint of tea. Give it a few years and you'll have something special.

N.V. Sakonnet Vineyards Petite Red Rhode Island Red Blend
The winemaker bills this as a "conundrum of five red grape varieties," which is usually a sure way to get me to take a sip. It doesn't disappoint, offering a unique cherry vanilla theme throughout. A nice winter wine with an easy finish, definitely superior to their "Cock of the Walk Red" that immediately followed on their winter 2012 tasting lineup.
Red - Sweet/Dessert
The "Port" description is a little bit of a misnomer given that actual Port must come from Portugal, but they are true to the style here and have produced a nice bottle. The wine is quite dark red with good smoke - Tawny lovers rejoice at this Ruby, as it is just how you like them.
Red
There is more Burgundy than California in this Rhode Island Pinot Noir, which shouldn't surprise you given the similarity in latitudes between New England and France. It is certainly more Burgundy in style, less fruit and a bit more wood and earth. Very light in color, just as you'd expect. Quite nice, and a good surprise coming from up north.
Rosé
A curious Cab Franc rose that made me feel like I was in New England for the summer - beach plum and boysenberry nose with a very slight hint of cab franc earth - as I said, curious for a rose, but one that I'll drink again.

The pine needles in the nose give way to a very different, yet rich, nut and oaky taste. Curious bottle from start to finish - I bought one after the tasting.

For $6, this is an astounding value in white wine, even compared to some of the cheaper, fresh vinho verde. Not sweet. A good balance of acidity. There's a tiny hint of botyris that adds a fun depth of complexity to this very affordable glass.

AWS White Clay Chapter - Gwurtztraminer: Lemon and slate aromas followed by tart lemon. I would never guess this was ten years old. The finish is fresh and long. I think this is remarkable for a ten year, old east coast wine.

Good nose, pepper and ripe sweet fruit, clean, rather a lot of vanilla, smooth and juicy, rather sweet, some minerals and tannin, but too flabby for me.

Full of juicy fruit, no noticable oak, ampleur, balancing freshness, very pleasant, not unlike a well-made Italian Chardonnay.

Recieved as a gift and had with dinner. Half for cooking and Half for drinking.

- pale yellow
- Non conplex aromas of lemon peel and cantolope, but pleasant none the less.
- Palate with muted tropical fruits and pear. As it started to warm, an astringent conponent became noticeable.
- med body, seni-dry, acidity dissapponting
- In the end, a uninspiring white wine that I passable if cold and with food. Needs more acidity!!

This is not a bad wine for easy drinking, but don't expect much by way of Franc flavors. It's really more of an "any" red with a judicious dose of oak.

Pleasant, quite fruity. No real complaints, except almost too sweet for an unnamed red blend. If it cost $8 (I have no clue what it does cost) it would be a reasonable thing to have around; at $6 I'd buy a few; at $10 I'd pass.

Aroma a bit hot/alcoholic, tannic.
Taste a bit thin, tannic, sort of like a Rhone Vin de Pays, but in a reduced flavor or lighter weight version.
Fairly pleasant wine to have a few glasses of, and I liked it better as it opened up.
At $13 this is overpriced, but a good choice if you want to serve Rhode Island wine; it would be a fair value at $9.

Nose was a little flinty. Taste was thin, a bit acidic, not particularly interesting. A bit of a funny taste in a way that was not unpleasant but hard to identify. At the $13 price there is no reason to buy this wine, but it was not terrible.

Inner tube, sweet cotton candy, blue snow cone, balanced by a tart, metallic edge. All the funkiness blends together to create an experience that is, overall, not awful. At Light Years.

'lost' in the basement; still clean, crisp and a good antidote to very hot day; smooth mouth feel, subtle apple and spice with some stuffing; this may be their vidal blanc but was labelled 'fume vidal'

Pretty, though subtle and a bit light, this shows a lot of typicity with aromas of flowers, lychee and apricot. High in acid, though not particularly concentrated on the palate, this lacks the intensity and purity of good Alsatian Gewurz, but is enjoyable nonetheless. Unlike the other review, I found this quite dry.

Really rough - one of the worst wines I've ever had. Certainly there are scores of jug wines that offer better quality and value. Offering up insipid notes of old peaches and weird chemical-like aromas on the nose with shockingly little flavor on the palate, this was painful to drink.

Still so impressed with this wine. the best I've had from the NE. Citrus, tropical fruits on the nose, some coconut, melon, banana and citrus on the midpalate. Great summer wine. Great value.

12%. Off-dry. Typical geweurz nose of lychee with some bubblegum, elegant. Soft and pillowy body, medium finish, slight alcohol intrusion with warmth. Overall a fine gewuerz that you would never suspect didn't come from Germany but rather, Rhode Island. Very Good.
