After a 1+ hour decant; light purple in color. aroma of stone/granie + plum. Flavors of plum, ginger, and some apricot. Decent mouthfeel, medium finish

Tastes much older than it is. Medium body, ripe strawberries, dried herbs, nice acidity. Probably peaking right now.

Light to medium body, good acidity and fruit. Too bad the bottle was TCA tainted.

Ripe red cherries, ripe red raspberries, pickled cucumbers, smoked wood on the nose. Smells elegant, with a medium intensity of aromas; though the aromas themselves are tad simple. The palate fares better. While it's driven mostly by the red fruits (to which ripe strawberries are added), there's also cardamom pods, juniper berries, cedar wood and forest floor. Astringnet finish with some bitter herbal flavors. Medium + intensity of flavors too. The average American palate may hate this for new world PN - it's thinner and the oak influence is subtle. For me, I don't mind it. It really feels like it's from a cool climate.

Medium body with medium + acid and medium - tannin. Bitter medium finish. Drink now, decent pairing with seared tuna steaks.

garnet colour in the glass with slight bricking. earthy nose of sous-bois, spice and sap notes mingled with dark cherry. medium-bodied in the mouth with a running vein of acidity in the dark fruit flavours. accents of blood orange, savoury spice along with minerality enhance the mid palate. good persistence with a bit of heat that somewhat detracts from an otherwise elegant wine.

beautifully opened with a two-hour decant, this wine can perhaps gain a bit of complexity still. no hurry to drink this.

14.5% AbV that does show a bit; fifteen month in French oak (30% new).

Dark and full….great blueberry nose upon opening….let air in glass for a hour and it never really seemed to fully open …muted blueberries, plum, a little hollow in the mid palate …

Fairly deep red center, red rim with modest signs of age.
Sweet, touch of raisins, smoked black cherries, blackberries, a hint of VA.
Smooth and rounded, juiced black cherries and blackberries, some oak in the background, good acidity, well integrated alcohol (stated 14.5%), turning a little green on the finish (in a good way), nice length.
Excellent Pinot, good depth of fruit, drinks well now with some air, has the city and fruit to go another few years.

something seemed a little off with this bottle. the cork showed signs of wine got through so could of been a storage issue before we received. tasted ok just not as robust as I thought it would taste.

At p'n'p this was quite nice. Balanced and earthy with a hint of smoke. A couple hours later it was all funk and smoke with little else. Later on in the evening it was more like how it started - interesting and balanced without an overwhelming funk.

Medium red with just a hint of brick.
Bing cherry and brown spice. Some fresh blueberry with just a hint of caramel. Fresh aromas with good intensity.
Sweet fruit. Fresh acidity. Very focused. Ripe tannins with even texture.

Only med red with brown edge. Overripe strawberry and five spice nose carried by the alcohol. Darker fruit palate and milk chocolate in a pudgy body. All that oak needs some time to integrate.

First pour revealed some overpowering bitter oak tones, honestly thought it was corked in some way. It did balance out a bit revealing soft red fruits and mellow structure, but oak remained aggressively unpleasant. Not structured enough to age long.

Slightly decanted; 45 minutes... A dark Pinot, with medium to slow legs. Aromas of plum and forest floor. On the tongue; Strawberry, Plum and some Mineral. Decent finish; medium length.

I'm a big Calera fan for many years. This wine is not in the Calera style. Alcohol on the nose. Other than that it is Goldeneye South. Manipulated with strong wood. Soft extracted mouthfeel. Where is the fruit...

Nice - good - easy tannins , lots of fruit. 13.7 alcohol- other SC MTN Syrahs 14 -15 that I’ve tasted - this one gives me tad sweeter than I would prefer. But this is good stuff - Christmas gift

Medium garnet color in glass. Nose rather muted but nice. Elegant, supple fruit on palate. Very low acidity due no doubt to gentle pressing. Not too complex but needs a few years to really open up. Went well with sautéed calves liver and onions!

Lovely wine but really needs time to open up. Even with a one hour decant, first half of bottle was good, but not nearly as rich as remainder on day 2. Great purchase

Nose- red cherry dominates, red raspberry

Palate- medium light mouthfeel. Cherry is a bit darker. Vanilla notes with some oak and notes of chocolate! Impressive finish for the price point. Sad it’s gone.
