It did it's job as a nice easy to drink Pinot. Nothing special but at least it tasted like Pinot!

Not as good as the prior bottle. Might be flawed.

Good but not great. Perhaps a bit over the hill but it was best for the first little while after opening.

Drinking well

The wine is clear, with medium intensity, and ruby color. Just the slightest hint of garnet on the edge. Clean on the nose, herbal, with medium+ intensity. Still mostly primary and developing at 10 years from vintage. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acidity, tannin, body and alcohol. Excellent balance. Medium+ intensity, red fruited. Primary and secondary characteristics still dominate. The finish is long. This is a very good wine, fully ready to drink, but with solid potential for further aging.

Surprisingly full-bodied for a Pinot. Enjoyable. My cab-loving-SO, would probably like this- she complains that Pinots are "too thin".

Extremely melon, almost to a fault - the flavour is good and strong but becomes a bit tiring before the bottle is finished. When cold, the flavour comes through beautifully. When warm, the taste is mellow and smooth. Mild acidity.

At $20 net from LB, this could be a case buy. A delicious and well-balanced Syrah that tastes like Syrah. Load the boat if you see it at the price.

Delicious. Deep ruby/purple in the glass nearly opaque, pronounced aromas and flavors, nose of dark fruits and earth, palate is dry balanced and integrated, bold and expressive, black plum, black currant, anise, bramble, tomato leaf, hint of violets, bit of spice and pepper, silky tannins, high acidity, full body, long lingering finish. Has many years to continue developing in the bottle.

In a good place. Silken, mid-weight with red fruit, red whips, sous bois and hoisin notes. Well matched with duck liver pâté, baked ham. Opened up over 3 days under vacu-vin. Nice as both aperitif and table wine. Leans toward the burgundian end of cali pinot.

This was quite good. Not super expressive the whole time it was open, but when it was expressive it was the full Pinot experience. Nice value at $20.

In a great spot right now. Mature Bordeaux blend with Santa Cruz Mountains elegance and balance. Took an hour to show its full potential. Fantastic with dry aged grass fed ribeye.

Very faint clear-amber; nuance of peach pit, umami shrooms with mango-melon notes; smooth, dry, slightly astringent finish. Very nice with Jidori fried chicken. Gozen Shun w/J

This is a happily strange wine. Tinged with distinctions of bronze on the rim, the chalky dry profile hangs on the framework of tart acidity that is reined in just as it approaches the edge on the finish of the wine. An interesting wine, but not particularly within the variety’s mainstream. 13.3% alc. With grilled shrimp. Guardedly ranking as Recommended with reservations, but anticipate it being more.

This wine has started to come around; a 5.5 year old SB has finally started to come around. The acidity has softened a bit ...or integrated more ... I’m really not sure. Much more quince and mineral with more mown grass. The quince, cut grass and mineral come through more on the palate with lime and something else I just can’t quite describe, but something tropical. While still an odd little wine, it provides more pleasure than 6 months ago. No idea where this will go since it was my last bottle. 13.3% alc. With tomato tarts topped with Parmesan and goat cheese. PMB seems to like it. Recommended.

The color of bronze. The nose is little more than quince and chalk. The palate is all quince, cut grass (that hasn’t been raked in between mowings), mineral and slate. There is almost a gym-shoe aspect on the finish. This continues to be an odd little wine with no length or depth. But damned if it doesn’t compliment the crab and stinky cheese. 13.3% alc. With ginger-carrot soup, “pica” goat cheese, baked crab and bread. Recommended with reservations.

A well made Pinot Noir with a fruit forward approach. Interesting winery at 2100 feet elevation in the Santa Cruz mountains. Organic grower, makes wines from their own grapes and other organic growers. Definitely worth trying more of these vintages and wines.

This was bright and clean with lots of melon fruit. Light but lip-smacking on a summer evening with take-out sushi roles and some sliced yellowtail sashimi. This is a definite for getting some more.

One of the highest elevations in northern california. Single vineyard called pine mountain. Big and powerful style but with some nice lift to it. Really taste and true to cabernet.

Velvety and full bodied. Spice and herb and the main dominate followed by berries and slight hint of vanilla. In term of balance, the tannin is higher than the acidity making it sweeter compared to my usual primitivo. Short finish

Smells ripe and tropical on the nose. Off dry chardonnay. Significant dissolved Co2 upon opening and even after decant. Not really screaming chardonnay and is inconsistent with other vintages of the this wine. Wont call it flawed but its a not a well made wine. Too bad its all organic, dry farmed, estate fruit but something is wrong with this bottle or vintage.

Just a touch of green Cabernet to the nose. Loads of black fruit on the palate, good structure, complex. Works it out at $25 or so. Sweet oak to the palate.

Last vintage for this site as Coppola purchased it all outright. Alexander Valley, Pine Mountain / Cloverdale. 2200 feet elevation. 22 months oak. Ripe nose, black fruit and sweet plum. Firm, silty tannin on the first sip. Lush mouthfeel, weighty presence. Oaky finish, but not over the top. Great for the price. 335 cases produced.

Served on the cold side. Soft on the edges but quite a firm sake mid palate onward and with a solid structure that makes it very versatile with food. Solid. Tech specs below
