Red
2008 La Crema Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
88 points
Simple, fruit-forward red cherry, tasty. Solid enough for $22.
Red
2008 Treasure Hunter Wines Pinot Noir Russian River Valley USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
90 points
I have to admit, a $20 Pinot with a bottle this ugly didn't inspire confidence, but this was an excellent value. Shyish red nose, with a touch of whiteout. Great mouthfeel - slight glycerin roundness without a trace of heaviness. Good structure. Fairly simple, but delicious and fruit foward. Medium oak. Proof that you can't judge a book by its cover.
Red
2008 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County
89 points
Big strawberry fruit on the nose, not at all shy. Round, but not overripe. Fruit-forward. Easy, but with a buried complexity and just a bit of poop. $20
Red
2007 Demetria Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills
92 points
Wow. Ripe nose, massive, slightly bretty. Beautiful mouthfeel, glycerin bomb, but only 13.5% alcohol. Very new world and massive, but also elegant. $43
Red
2007 Sineann Pinot Noir Oregon USA, Oregon
88 points
Shyer nose. More elegant, lighter. Simple for the price of $35
Red
2007 Sineann Pinot Noir Resonance Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
89 points
Not showing as well as I remember it. Odd nose, with sea brine. Bigger, than the basic Oregon, but still restrained. Burgundian. $47
