Red
2002 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru

Cherries, cinnamon and minerals on the nose. Light to medium body, great acidity and minerality, hints of bacon, not a ton of fruit. Slightly tannic, not sure how much better this will get.
Red
2002 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Pommard Les Vignots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard
83 points
Barnyard funk on the nose, buried dark cherry. Palate is a bit simple, not much weight or complexity. Acidity is predominant and it finishes slightly astringent.
Red
2002 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Volnay 1er Cru Champans France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru

Strikingly strange nose of toasted rice cake with a bit of barnyard funk. Bright cherry fruit on the palate but almost weightless with very little structure. Drink up imo.
Red
2002 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Épenots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru

Nose is a bit green, some celery, mint and spice. But the palate is red-fruity, with a silky texture, nice fine tannins providing structure and medium finish. This is good juice, drinking well now.
Red
2002 Domaine Bruno Clair Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru

Strawberries leap out of the glass. Fresh tart cherries on the palate, nice balancing acidity and some spice (cardamom?). Some tannins on the finish make me think this still has years of improvement ahead. Delicious now though if you're curious.
