The Saturdays at One group got together on Sunday this weekend to do a special tasting of some higher end or unusual German wines. Here are the results:

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout with tiny, steady beading. Nose started with a hint of sulfur followed by notes of yellow pears, yellow apples and wet stones. Flavors of yellow pears, lemon and a bit of yellow apple. Bright acidity, medium body. Drink over the next few years.

Nose came across initially as a little over the top with powerful aromas of a reduced sugar followed by lychee, orange zest and honeysuckle. Flavors of honey, lemon drop, orange, lilikoi and simple sugar. Medium to bright acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.
