Introduction

At Blue in Shangri-la.

Flight 1 (1 note)

Red
1995 Château Le Bon Pasteur France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
91 points
At IWFS dinner. This was better than Petite Eglise or Fleur de Gay. Great fruit, aromas, good structure, not a huge wine, but complete and pleasant.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
1995 Château La Fleur de Gay France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
90 points
At IWFS dinner. This drank quite well, more balanced and open than the bottle I had a few weeks back. Which speaks for opening this wine still a few hours ahead in view of the tannins that are still present.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
1995 Château L'Eglise-Clinet France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
94 points
At IWFS dinner. This showed very well. Plum aromas, rich nose and wonderful sweetness. A rich wine with great presence.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
1995 Château L'Evangile France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
92 points
At IWFS dinner. Step up from the first three Pomerols. This is expressive with plums and sweet notes, good structure and a great finish. Smooth and velvety, still very fresh; long life ahead. 92-93
