Introduction

The Burgs reign the world

Flight 1 (1 note)

White
1985 Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
93 points
Initially a hint of oxidation which went away quite quickly, giving way to a mature wine with interesting aromas. Quite fat, full-bodied, energetic. Less minerality than in other Chevaliers I recently had. More Batard style perhaps. But good bottle that held up well.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
1964 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, La Tâche Grand Cru
97 points
Stunning wine even from a bottle with low levels (probably 6 cm ullage). Loved the sweetness, feel of harmony, very good length and the evolving nose - got some rose petals, some quite exotic spice. Another great Xmas eve experience.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
1990 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echezeaux France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
94 points
Drank this after the LT 1964 with J&J at Les Amis. Loved the wine, floral, feels very young, red berries, a bit of spice, pleasant acidity levels. Thought this has still a lot in store.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
1983 Château Mouton Rothschild France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
89 points
really difficult following the DRC's for the Mouton to make an impact. Pleasant wine, well evolved, but not one on which I would bet my future at this stage.
